A Creative Hub for Arts, Culture, and Community

Founded in November 2021 by Lebanese-Armenians, Forty44 was created with a simple yet ambitious vision: to promote, support, and expose diverse forms of unbiased arts and culture. Located in the heart of Yerevan, Armenia, Forty44 serves as a vibrant creative hub where local and international artists can showcase their work, connect with like-minded individuals, and build meaningful collaborations that expand their artistic horizons.

The founder, Vartan Kelechian, is a professional photographer and Fujifilm ambassador who spent 23 years living and working in Dubai. The concept of creating a multidisciplinary creative space had been a long-standing dream that originated during his years in the UAE. After relocating to Armenia, Vartan brought this vision to life through Forty44, establishing a platform that encourages artistic expression, cultural exchange, and community engagement. He then brought together co-founders Miran Gurunian and Alaa Harfoush to Armenia, uniting their complementary talents to shape and scale Forty44’s mission.

Since its opening, Forty44 has evolved into much more than a traditional art venue. It has become a meeting point for artists, musicians, photographers, creatives, and cultural enthusiasts from different backgrounds. The space regularly hosts live bands, internationally recognized and emerging DJs, exhibitions, workshops, and events featuring both beginner and established artists.

Forty44 was originally launched as a unique combination of an art hub and cocktail bar, creating an environment where creativity and social interaction naturally intersect. As the project continues to grow, it is now expanding into the world of wine, exploring new ways to enhance the cultural experience and create meaningful connections among its visitors.

Today, Forty44 stands as an independent creative platform dedicated to fostering artistic freedom, supporting emerging talent, and strengthening Yerevan’s cultural landscape while building bridges between local and international creative communities.
